Food, glorious food.

March 30, 2009

Yes, it is time we discuss a topic that every male (myself included) thinks about all day every day. When I don’t have it, I am always thinking about it. That’s right. FOOD. Even while I am eating food, sometime I am thinking about what I will eat next, or ways that I could have made this food that I am eating now way better. (Oooh, next time I should add honey mustard to this.) As a tribute to food, here are some awesome food-related links I have come across. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

New food invention: Pizza Vending Machine

It sounds awesome, but unfortunately it is debuting in Europe. You can read more about this product here: Pizza-making machine has chefs in a spin

In weird food news : Diners can ‘have a ball’ at testicle festival

I do like to attend new festivals, but that one is certainly not going to make my list of “must-attends”.

And finally, a website with pictures of food concoctions that I would really like to try, despite each item taking a year off of my life : This is why you’re fat.

Maybe I’ll eat one thing a year for each birthday of mine….

Like this meatloaf cake:

Meat Cake Meatloaf with potatoes and ketchup for icing. (submitted by Anne Marie)

Or a nice old-fashioned twinky hot dog:

Twinkie Wiener Sandwich Hot dog with twinkies for buns covered in Cheese Wiz. (submitted by Roxanne Smith)

Some of my other favorites include: the hot dog pie, McGang Bang, the deep fried peanut butter brownie covered in cookie dough, and of course … the garbage plate (which I have heard about for years, and is quite the legend). And I just learned there is a bar in Philly called the ugly American that has an imitation of this delectable dish.

And of course, every man’s dream : Weird flavored chips from Japan : GMAN: More Japanese Potato Chips

Would I fly to Japan for cheesecake flavored chips ? Probably.

Pinocchio and Peeps

March 24, 2009

I did stumble upon the Pinocchio Paradox today:

Click here for awesome peeps diaromas: Top 10 Peep entries — chicagotribune.com .

You’ve got to love the creativity!

And of course because I love Demetri Martin, and his new show “Important Things With Demetri Martin, I thought I would post his 224 word palindrome. That’s right. Not two words like normal. Like dam mad. Or Stressed Desserts. 224 words!

A 224-Word Palindrome – Neatorama.

And because none of the other articles were about animals, here is a video about a cat and a rat that have become buds: Rat loves cat! 2 on Yahoo! Video

Video Game Stuff

March 24, 2009

It’s been awhile since I’ve played some video games, so I’d like to dedicate my post today to the entertainment form that acquired most of the days (and nights) of my teenage life.

So let’s start with funny video game related stuff I’ve seen on the internets:

12 Video Game Characters With Undiagnosed Mental Disorders | Cracked.com

And if that wasnt nerdy enough for you, this one will surely meet your desires: IHC’s Periodic Table of Video Game Characters [I Heart Video Games] | I Heart Chaos

That’s right, it is a periodic table with the elements removed, and video game characters replaced instead. I’ll admit, I could only get like half of them. One of which is here:10 Things from Super Mario Bros. (and their Real Life Counterparts) .

If you ever wanted to play guitar hero on a bike, this is what it would look like: YouTube – Bike Hero.

That must of taken them forever to make. Also, kudos to them for picking a living end song

In other video game news, Harmonix (They Make Rock Band) is considering releasing a Beatles Rock Band like game :  Beatles to star in ‘Rock Band’ | Tech News on ZDNet.

Very cool. It comes out 9/9/09 (Very reminiscent of when Dreamcast came out with their system 9/9/99).

And because it’s tough not to share cool animal videos or news (especially when it’s about monkeys) :

Flossing monkeys ‘proof’ animals teach tool use

Monkeys, Posh Spice, and Genitals. Oh My.

March 22, 2009

I know most of you have never seen a monkey ride a Capybara, so let us start off by fixing that right away: Monkeys on Rodents Video.

Now that we have that out of the way, we can move onto more important things. It has been quite some time since I’ve seen any Ali G productions, so I looked into “new” videos he had up, and stumbled upon this comedic gold:

YouTube – Ali-G Interviews Posh Spice and David Beckham

The only reason they agree to do the interview is because it’s for charity. They are quite good sports about it. They had to know going into this interview that he was going to ask them really embarrassing questions, yet they went through with it anyway. Impressive.

In News of NJ doing weird things : NJ scraps plans to ban genital waxing

Apparently we were planing on banning genital waxing. Imagine going to jail for that. What are you in here for? Well I used to work at this nail salon……

Lastly, these kids set something interesting on fire : LiveLeak.com – Burning Mercury Thiocyanide Will Amaze You

Apparently it is the same material they used to use for those snake fireworks…. until they realized that the gas released is highly toxic of course.

How I beat Shaq

March 18, 2009

As much as I dislike Aaron Carter, I can’t help but enjoy his music video of him playing basketball against Shaq : YouTube – Aaron Carter – How I Beat Shaq.

In the category of a product I definitely do not need: Star Trek cologne and perfume:

Star Trek enterprise to market 3 new fragrances — chicagotribune.com.

If I ever want to become king of the nerds, I will buy some.

In news stories about old people having bad ideas : Cops: Teacher made boy eat from garbage – The Connecticut Post Online.

Not sexist

March 17, 2009

I’m not sexist, but is this product really neccesary?

It is called a GoGirl. A product so that girls may pee standing up. Here is the website if you don’t believe me: GoGirl – Female Urination Device for Travel and Active Women.

Or if you’d just like to read the article about it that I read : “Go Girl” Lets Girls Go Standing Up | NBC Bay Area

They are pretty inexpensive though if someone wants to buy one of these for April Fools in two weeks….

I, on the other hand, would prefer to save my money to go here :Buddhist temple built out of one million beer bottles – Telegraph

The best is that it’s not just a building made out of beer bottles, but a buddhist temple. I assume it took them a really long time to empty the bottles, and a whole lot of singing (Oh one million bottles of beer in the wall, on million bottles of beer. Take one down pass it around, 999,999,999 bottles of beer in the wall).

Here are more pictures of the temple if you’d like:  Inhabitat » Thai Temple Built From One Million Recycled Bottles

And in related news, a boy who got speared (not the way catholic priests do it) and lived to tell the tale. Think Phineas Gage, only through the torso: Boy, 3, speared through torso with 3-foot iron rod, liver injured | The Daily Telegraph.

And lastly, how to decided which players to draft for your fantasy football team. Can’t believe I somehow missed this until now :Fantasy Football Players Show Off – CollegeHumor Video.

I assume it’s fake, but the first part of the video still astounds me.

Happy belated

March 15, 2009

Happy slightly belated pi(e) day, steak and a bj day, or saturday closest to St. Patrick’s day depending on which of these holidays you like to celebrate. I of course celebrated pi(e) day with a delicious Tasty Klair pie. Yum.  Today kind of feels like a cat day (Maybe because I have off and am going to lay around the house watching college basketball and selection sunday stuff all day). Now onto all the good stuff.

I thought lions didn’t like water (or all cats for that matter) . I also thought they would eat a horse if they ever got a chance. But wait until you see what they did with this horse: Lions swimming, playing Scrabble, etc. – thelondonpaper

I might as well include the pictures of tigers playing with pigs, monkeys, and each other : Best pictures ever: tigers being funny and cute gallery at thelondonpaper.

And one of my favorite cat songs/ videos that you may or may not have seen. But it definitely epitomizes alll cats: YouTube – The Mean Kitty Song

Good for a laugh

March 11, 2009

I know it’s bad to laugh at other people’s misfortunes. Or even dogs’ for that matter. But when I saw this, I couldn’t help but laugh. A lot. Certain things should not happen to a Husky. This is one of them:

Poor Dog

Boats

March 9, 2009

Since the weather was pretty awesome perfect this weekend, I might as well share some links with things to do in the great outdoors. Like boating.

This weekend I attended “The Greater Philadelphia Boat Show”. As it turns out, boats are expensive, and I really do not need or want a boat. But I had to attend this boat show in order to see this:

YouTube – Water-Skiing Squirrel. Unfortunately Twiggy the squirrel likes to ride in the speedboat with the other stuffed squirrels more than she likes to water ski, so you only get about 30 seconds of entertainment. She did do cool tricks on the waterskis though.

I also was given the chance to sing the new song from the group: The Lonely Island. The super group featuring Andy Samberg (Dick in a Box guy if you aren’t familiar). The song is called “I’m on a Boat”

Here’s the video if you haven’t seen it yet:

YouTube – I’m On A Boat (ft. T-Pain) – Album Version

Somehow I missed their original hit, which had a brief cameo with Justin Timberlake. You can watch that here if you’d like : YouTube – Jizz In My Pants

Lastly, some idiot thinks he is going to sail on a boat made of plastic from California to Australia.

He’s rich, and using some “high tech” plastic, and is doing it for a good cause, but I still think he is in trouble. Maybe he will accidentally stumble upon the island from Lost though…

Boat made of plastic bottles to make ocean voyage – CNN.com

I guess next up I’ll have to see when Duma the waterskiing dog is coming to town next: YouTube – Chicago’s Water Skiing Dog!

The Jack Russel Terrier even drives the motor boat. All my dog can do is run away if we leave the door open.

And his website if you want more info: The Water Skiing Dog – Home.

Apparently monkeys and horses can waterski as well. But that one doesn’t shock me. Monkeys can do everything: YouTube – Waterskiing Monkeys

YouTube – WATERSKIING HORSEY.

Those two look like they were forced into doing it though. The squirrel and the dog choose to water ski.

Gay Dolphins

March 7, 2009

Just when I thought dolphins couldn’t get any more flamboyant…

Pink dolphin appears in US lake – Telegraph

And in the least surprising news I’ve ever heard:

Also Brain Boucher, ex-Flyer and current goalie for the San Jose Sharks really messed up yesterday. Here’ s a video of the goal he let in:

Boucher bad goal – Google Video .

Or you can read about it here: Wild vs. Sharks – Recap – March 05, 2009 – ESPN.

And the opposite of that would be  a great goal that Boucher let in:

I might as well include the amazing goal Ovechkin scored 2 weeks ago for kicks in case you missed it as well:
